Adjusting to a brain injury is hard work and may involve the need to relieve the grief, isolation, depression and social stigma that come with a brain injury. Counseling can aid in accepting a new life with as much independence as possible. Every injury for every individual is different. Making Headway Center tailors all programs to the needs of the individual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Making Headway Center provides trauma-informed and trauma-responsive mental health services. Our team of bilingual therapists is trained on the emotional, psychological, and physical trauma that can negatively affect mental health. We offer tools and techniques that support people in bringing balance to their lives. Serving those with traumatic and acquired brain injuries continues along with the addition of mental health services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We provide individual counseling to adults and teens as well as court-ordered groups for people involved with domestic violence or child abuse. Therapeutic modalities include: Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy.
